Strata Drilling Group provides accurate geotechnical drilling using state-of-the-art equipment including SPT (Standard Penetration Test), DCPT (Dynamic Cone Penetration Test) and CPT (Cone Penetration Test).
The most accurate geotechnical data is collected from a CPT acoustic cone with memory. In order to collect the data, signals from the CPT probe are transmitted acoustically up through the rods to the microphone and decoded at surface using a lap top computer. CPT collects data from the tip resistance, sleeve friction and pore pressure measurements at a 2cm depth interval, which provides a rapid indication of soil behavior.
These values can be used to calculate a number of geotechnical parameters including SPT N60, Friction Angle, Young’s Modulus, Relative Density, Constrained Modulus, Soil Sensitivity, In-Situ Stress Ratio, Effective Friction Angle, Over-Consolidation Ratio, Constrained Modulus, and Hydraulic Conductivity.
